Hey all this is poncho here, I just wanted to say that I have alot of great memories of performances or gigs I have played at, but I was curious, what gig or performance really stands out in your memory, what makes this one more interesting than the rest. Have fun with this discussion.
My favorite gig so far has to be the first Adirondack Musicians Food Drive @ Wallabees Jazz Bar in Glens Falls, NY. Besides being the emcee for the event, it was the premiere performance for my duo, The Nova Nesmer Project, (Cory Avon, and I). We also premiered our original song, "Adirondack Christmas", which garnered some great response from the crowd and the staff at Wallabees. There were also some great performances from each of the bands and soloists who came out to support the main cause of the event the Open Door Mission of Glens Falls, NY, which helps those in need in the surrounding upstate NY area. All of us participants, raised a good amount of money, food, and other goods which all benefited the Open Door Mission on South Street in Glens Falls. This was an awesome event and I am planning on doing this event again this coming December, so keep a lookout for more information on that as we close in on December 2009. Peace and Ponchos all!!! - TR Remsen a.k.a. "The Poncho Wearing Wonder"
Early nineties, I was with Dr. Gators medicine show. We played the Summer Jam at West Mountian. Had to be 5,000 people there. Closest thing to a real concert I've ever done....
Hey, I will have to give a couple different gigs..1st one 1998&2004 a little music festival in Hedges Lake NY called Les Stock.. It was not the biggest show I have ever done, but definitely the most memorable.. This is a private lake and the association has a big 2 day bash with about 6 or 7 hundred people. There were many different acts there including some acoustic bands from NYC and The Burners UK. I had a blast not only performing but, getting to know people, eating drinking, and by the end of the night it turned into one hell of a jam. I was requested to go back up and perform with the Burners... What a night!!!! 2nd one July 2009 I played a Leymone College Class reunion and Had a blast getting people up singing and dancing. The Food was the bomb!!! and I will tell you these people could party!
