Virginia Rock Bands

HISTORY:

VRB (VaRockBands.Com) was the idea of Sheila Hodgin and Jason Smith, two co-workers who enjoyed a few of the well known area bands. They both realized they could help these bands with their promotions and after throwing concepts around for a while and building the first website, VRB was launched on Sept. 1, 2001 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Jason and Sheila both did alot of "selling" to local bands and venues to get the site name out to the public and within months, had bands and venues flocking to be listed. In 2004, co-founder Jason Smith decided to leave the VRB family in order to spend more time with his family at home and on his career. He is missed very much and will always be apart of the VRB family.

TODAY:

VRB has been reinvented yet again. After realizing that websites are no longer the voice of the internet for promotions, we have decided to reinvent VRB, creating a website built on MySpace's frame and foundation (Thanks Tom!) and hoping to evolve with the .com generation.

TOMORROW:

As always, our goal is to get people to open their ears, mind and hearts to the local scene, no matter where they are. We will evolve and continue supporting ORIGINAL rock music in our state for as long as we can! We hope that you enjoy finding new music here and becoming apart of YOUR local scene!
